About Multnomah Presbyterian Church

Portland, Oregon

Prodigal SonMultnomah Presbyterian Church is an evangelical Presbyterian church within the PC (USA) denomination. We are a community of faith, centered on Jesus Christ.

Jesus heard us in our need and said, “I love you . . . follow Me.”
He called to us in our fear and said, “Don’t be afraid . . . follow Me.”
He found us in the dark and said, “I am the light of life . . . follow Me.”
He saw us lost and said, “I am the way . . . follow Me.”
So we listen . . . and we follow the God who is Love, Light and Life . . . who is the Christ.

Join us in this amazing journey, won’t you?

Our Mission:Fellowship of Presbyterians
Loved by Christ, we love. Served by Christ, we serve.
Invited by Christ, we go, inviting others to Him.

About our Pastor

Laurel Neal, Interim Pastor
Ordained in 1992, Laurel holds an M.Div. degree from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and an M.A. in Linguistics from the University of Texas. She has served congregations of various sizes in Colorado, Oklahoma and Indiana, working mostly in the area of Christian Formation and Discipleship. In 2009 Laurel began to focus on interim/transitional ministry after moving to the Portland area in 2007 with her husband, Fitz, who is a pastor in Vancouver, WA. She has worked with congregations in Eugene (Westminster), Vancouver (East Woods), Fairview (Smith Memorial), and Hillsboro (Hillsboro PC) before coming to MPC.

Laurel really enjoys being involved in transformational conversations and work with individuals and groups. In general she takes great pleasure in collaborating with congregations as they reflect on their identity and purpose and set a trajectory for the future.

Outside of work, Laurel’s other interests include reading, movies, fly fishing, travel and cooking.
