Danny Peters is a northern California native, born and raised in the Sacramento area. He was raised in the church, baptized and confirmed in the Catholic tradition, but made the commitment to follow Jesus during his college years. As a junior at Chico State University, Danny attended a neighbor’s Bible study. He was compelled by their faith, joy, and generosity, which eventually led him to accept Christ as his Lord and Savior. Danny describes those years as the most transformational years of his life. He became deeply involved at Bidwell Presbyterian Church, serving with the college group, participating in local and international mission, and volunteering in the Middle School ministry. While at Bidwell, Danny met his future wife, Kaitlin Bauer.

Danny received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Chico State, and had every intention of pursuing a career in sales or marketing. During his senior year, all of that changed. He sensed a calling to the church and began to serve on the staff of Bidwell Presbyterian as the Intern for Middle School Ministries. Danny’s enthusiasm for serving God’s church only seemed to grow as time went by, so he began to search for full-time ministry work, a process that led him to serve as College Ministry Intern at First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley. For 2 years, Danny was blessed to serve in this capacity, and found great joy in walking alongside students and sharing in God’s work in the Bay Area. As a result of this experience, Danny sensed a call to ordained ministry. He entered the PC(USA) ordination process under care of the Sacramento Presbytery. He earned his Master of Divinity degreeat Princeton Theological Seminary in 2014. While at Princeton, Danny served as a youth minister at Pennington Presbyterian Church, and also as a chaplain at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital.

Danny is currently serving as the Associate Pastor at Perinton Presbyterian Church in Fairport, New York, a 540 member church just outside the city of Rochester. His main areas of focus include preaching and worship leadership, Christian Education (emphasis on students grades 7 – 12), pastoral care, and overseeing the church’s mission programs. Danny is an active member of the Genessee Valley Presbytery, having served on the Mission & Advocacy Committee and the Self-Development of People Committee. He also serves as a Board Member at Cameron Community Ministries, a faith-based community organization in downtown Rochester.

Outside of ministry, Danny takes any opportunity to spend time with Kaitlin, his wife of seven years, and their 2 year-old son, Joshua. He loves to get outside, and particularly enjoys running, biking, and stand-up paddle boarding. Some of his other passions included good conversation, authentic Mexican food, dark roast coffee, the San Francisco Giants, and the L.A. Lakers – although there’s a chance he may become a Blazer fan!
